Fresh off the heels of completing my latest project STAYBOLD: 100 DAYS 100 SONGS, which was featured Billboard, Afropunk and Out amongst other notable publications, and where I promised to release 100 songs in 100 days in protest of our current social and political climate, I present my newest single "101".
The track fully encapsulates the last 100 days and allows me to perfectly express my feelings of both anger and hopefulness. My aim with STAY BOLD: 100 DAYS 100 SONGS was to inspire my generation to act, instead of waiting. In order to create a world that we truly feel comfortable in, and that we can all honestly consider equal we must act, not wait. I wanted to disband the illusion of 'the wait', and instead empower my peers in creating daily rituals that become the worlds we desire. A world in which we understand that while we wait, there are others who envision a world completely different from us, and would prefer to live in a society riddled in divisions and systems engineered to keep one group of people above another.
